There are many reasons to visit our lodge, our top ten list is compiled below.
The fishing is fantastic. Alaska is one of the last great holdouts for salmon fishing and halibut. Many places in Oregon and Washington had their salmon season closed for 2008 because of such poor runs.
The silence is deafening. Imagine sitting on the deck of the lodge, and listening to the occasional boat passing by, the seagulls crying, or the seals slapping the water with their fins. Our 62 acre property has more than enough room for you to explore, even finding our hidden 40 foot waterfall.
First Class Lodge
The lodge is fabulous. No expense was spared in building the lodge. The craftsmanship is incredible and the interior professionally decorated. Yet you still get the feeling you’re in Alaska. While inaccessible by car, the lodge still has telephone, high speed internet, TV, Power, and Heat. Everything you have at home.
Your hosts are here to serve you and are energetic and easy to get along with. We will go out of our way to make sure your Alaska vacation is a memorable one. Scott grew up in Ketchikan and knows the area well and his enthusiasm for Alaska will be immediately evident.
For our Platinum Package and Diamond Package, our fleet of boats will take you fishing or excursions in style. Linnaea and Jasmine are two of the nicest charter vessels in the area. With lots of room, heat, and enclosed heads (bathrooms), you won’t feel like you’re roughing it.
From museum quality pieces of art in your rooms to the 780 thread count sheets, no detail is left undiscovered. Each professionally decorated with museum quality art and each with its own theme, the rooms will make you feel like you are part of Alaska. Each room is configured with two twins or a single queen, except the unsurpassed Master Suite, which has a single king.
The price includes lodging, excursions, all meals, and basically being waited on the entire time. We book the lodge exclusively to a single group, or we have limited mixed bookings available for smaller groups.
The dining at Saltery Lodge has to be experienced. Our chef is a master in the kitchen, and coupled with his easy going and affable personality, you will go home raving about the food and the chef.
Out of the Ordinary
Because we are small, we are extremely attentive and flexible. We will do things that other lodges will not even consider doing because of their size. For instance, a dinner sunset cruise on the boat, or being escorted into town by your knowledgeable hosts.
Live Like There’s no Tomorrow
You may only get one chance to visit Alaska. Make sure you do it in style and luxury. Very few people will get to say they stayed at Saltery Lodge and enjoyed the wide variety of experiences that we offer.
