There are three bedrooms plus a master suite. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom. The three bedrooms each have their own decorating “theme” highlighting earlier times in Alaska. All the rooms have outdoor windows and all of them have views of the flats where bears and be seen. Each room has its own thermostat for cozy radiant floor heat.
All rooms include 780 thread count cotton sheets, heavy Turkish cotton towels, robes and slippers, goose-down comforters, and handmade Ketchikan soaps. Three of the bedrooms can be configured as two twins or a single queen bed, while the master suite is a single king bed only.
This room is about 1,000 sq ft and has three levels. It has its own private deck, a sitting room, loft, steam shower with dual shower heads, bathroom, walk in closet, and Jacuzzi tub. All of this overlooks the ocean from a wonderful vantage point. The ceilings in this room are 18-20ft tall with windows that go from floor to ceiling. The sitting room has its own couch, chair, 46″ LCD flat screen, and fireplace for the cozy feel. Its window looks out over the flats where bears can be sighted. The master suite is painted a pleasing, deep green color.
It has an outstanding 1,000 sq ft footprint and a large King sized bed with Select Comfort mattress.
The room is very bright and big. Open ceilings go to a peak about 15ft above the floor. Glass tile and natural stone adorn the bathroom. The wainscot is a weathered white tongue and groove with soft blue interior walls. Four tremendous schoolhouse light fixtures hang from the ceiling.
The room and bathroom are approximately 220 sq ft. You have a choice between two twin beds or one queen bed. Both will have adjustable Select Comfort mattresses.
Native Alaska Bedroom
This bedroom highlights the contribution of the native tribes to the culture and history of Alaska. With rustic cedar wainscot and deep earth tones, this room brings you back to simpler times. Native art and artifacts are placed in the room as well as a copper sink and cobble tile for the bathroom floor.
This room is the smallest room at about 161 sq ft with eight foot ceilings. You have a choice between two twin beds or one queen bed. Both will have adjustable Select Comfort mattresses.
Think 1950-1960s bush pilot aviation and you’ll have a good idea on how this room will look. Pictures and authentic aviation decor will fill this room out. The stainless sink and copper-like floor tile match the corrugated metal wainscot to give you a feel like you are in a nice airplane hangar. This room has 12 foot ceiling and is painted in an earthy green tone. This room has the best views out of the three bedrooms.
