I needed to get some good footage of some the bears that were frequenting our stream here on the property. So I packed my camera and approached a spot that the bears had been using to catch salmon. I approached from the downwind side and snuck up on a sow bear with two cubs.
I had the pleasure of watching them fish for salmon without them knowing I was there. The sow would catch the salmon then bring it back for her cubs to eat.
What A thrill. I hope you like the video.

Hi Scott,
Would you allow a visit for (2) adults. It could be (4) adults. We’d like some information on rates and the best time for a warm summer climate. We love to fish!
Thank you,
Donna

So love the profile picture of the bear on this post. The bear seems to be looking intent with something. Was it you?

Awesome video Scott! How fortunate you are to have been able to witness such amazing nature! Have you had a lot of experience with bears around your lodge? It seems to me that dealing with bears could be a bit dangerous, especially when they have cubs with them. You should inform your guests at the lodge about how to act if they encounter a bear, as I’m sure many people (myself included!) wouldn’t know what to do. Alaska Centers has an informative page here: http://www.alaskacenters.gov/bear-safety.cfm. Be sure to post more videos of any other great footage around Alaska!

Breathtaking and Awesome. I would rather see your pictures and watch your videos than any high dollar movie that I know of. Kent, you are just so very talented and daring beyond belief. How you capture things above and below the water is just amazing. Some of us would never get a chance in a lifetime to see what you must see everyday. I thank you for giving me that chance. And I can do it right here at home, but I would rather see it first hand like you do. Maybe someday, if the heart can take it. I think I would have been climbing a tree with that little cub if that mother bear had been that close to me like what it was to you. You are just as wonderful for giving all of us this opportunity as the nature you capture. Blessings. Jan, K.C., Missouri
