Alaska Sunsets

We have many great Alaska sunsets that appear right in front of Saltery Lodge. So if you are looking for pictures of sunsets, we have quite a few right here. Our south facing exposure makes sure that we receive most all of the available sunshine during the day. That coupled with Ketchikan's propensity to get rain clouds and showers during the summer months, leads to many great Alaska sunsets. These photos were all taken by the lodge host, Scott Kemp. He loves taking pictures of sunsets and usually grabs the camera and photographs them when they peek through the clouds.

The Milky Way galaxy is prominent in this photo at Saltery Lodge. Several Shooting stars can also be seen. For you stargazers, this was taken at 11pm Alaska time, Oct 11 2009. Lat 55°21'N, 131°39'W
